The project required an efficient design to maximize space while maintaining a look that blends seamlessly with the 19th-century architecture of the surrounding area. UG Group’s thoughtful approach resulted in a three-story structure that balances functionality, aesthetics, and historic charm.

Maximizing Space for Apartments in Columbus, Georgia

With a small footprint, the site presented unique design challenges. UG Group carefully planned the layout to accommodate two apartments per level, ensuring efficient use of available space. The ground floor features retail space, creating an engaging street-level presence. Meanwhile, the upper floors house well-designed apartments in Columbus, Georgia, providing residents with modern conveniences within a historically inspired setting.

Private Balconies and Convenient Access for Urban Living

To improve accessibility, UG Group integrated separate residential entrances from the street and direct access to the adjacent parking structure. This design ensures privacy and ease of movement for residents. Each apartment features a private balcony, offering views of 11th Street or a secluded courtyard. These outdoor spaces enhance urban living by providing a connection to the surrounding environment.

The Owner sought a palette and design that matched nearby 19th-century buildings. UG Group selected materials and architectural details that complement the area’s historic character while incorporating modern efficiencies.
